ABOUT THE OWNER
JIM ROHAN
is active in raising awareness-and sometimes money-for causes related to the physically challenged. Jim has participated in  “Swim with Mike” at USC, to raise scholarship money for physically challenged student athletes, for the past 20 years. Jim also volunteers with disabled sports programs. Over the line tournaments, quad rugby and Casa Colinas sports camp. Other credits include WYNGS  (when you need group support) for the Spinal Cord injured and in addition the Ed Hunt Project, an annual picnic sponsored by Disabilities Ministries. And not to mention the famous “accessible pin ball machines, which he takes to “expos” and demonstrates that almost anyone with any disability can play. Having a physically challenged son has opened his eyes in a world he never thought too much about before.  He believes society, despite all the progress in recent years, often looks the other way when it comes to dealing with individuals with any type of disability. In the case of these individuals, many restaurants and public places are still not easily accessible by wheelchairs.  He really believes that the magazine and website can do a lot for the Disabled community. Besides producing the magazine monthly, Jim works full time at Anheuser Busch.

ABOUT THE PUBLISHER
CHRIS ROHAN
was active in the medical field about 20 years, working for doctors. When her last employer retired in 2001, she wanted to do something at home. She heard about the magazine from her son.  In March of 1989 her son Bobby suffered a spinal cord injury and since that day she has stayed well informed and very active with her son’s disability and many others. She did not know anything about publishing a magazine but she could learn. Now it has become her passion. It turned out to be a little more than a part time job, but she can work around her schedule. Chris is very proud of the magazine Keeping up with the latest resources and articles of interest is one of her goals, besides making it enjoyable.  But with high cost of producing the magazine and mailing it to the readers, other alternate methods needed to be looked at. A couple of months ago, an interactive digital magazine was launched and is now online. www.disableddealermagazine.com
